Change in Pulling Order

It has been decided to move the 6000lbs pure stock class to right after the 4000lbs 5 mph class. This will allow for less changing of the sled gears. We hope this will make things better for all pullers involved. So if you pull the 6000lbs pure stock class remember to come a little earlier to the next pull.

The unsung heroes of Antique Tractor Pulling

So many times we forget about the folks behind the scenes. The ones who never complain, and are always there and they stay there until the pull is over no matter what time it is. For the past several years we have been blessed to have Misty and Stacy to help us with sign ups and pay back. These ladies come to every pull lugging a computer, printer, cords, copies of rules, insurance sheets, and many, many more items that I don’t even know about.

Now just doing that is a huge help to the clubs, but the work is still not complete, after getting home sometimes after 1 or 2 am Misty still has more work to do. Now she has to compile all the results and post them to the internet so when we wake up on Sunday we can go and look and see how we did. Once completing the results she has to compile the points, this is even more challenging because you are adding and ranking multiple pulls together. Yes she has a computer, but coming from one who has done this before it’s not that simple.

We all attend pulls put on by other clubs, and I think you must agree Misty and Stacy make it easy for us pullers. So remember next time you look at the results or the points think about how much work goes into making it possible. I remember not too long ago when we did not have the website as an option and I think we all agree it’s a great addition to our club and sport.

These ladies receive no pay for doing this and many times they even cover cost out of their own pocket. So in return they should receive no grief, only our thanks and respect. So I ask that next time you sign up or return to the announcer stand to pick up you winnings, remember to thank these ladies for all their hard work and the many hours they put into making our sport enjoyable.

This year we have decided to have all our pulls in conjunction with the Salt River Antique Power Association. We will also be running points for a combined points champion in each class.

This is the official site of the Central Kentucky Antique Pullers, better known as CKAP. We are a group of pullers who got together back in 2000 and started having pulls across central Kentucky. We want to provide a fun, safe and welcoming place for anyone who wants to hook to the sled. Our goal is to have a place close to home to hook and most of all, have a good time doing it. Our doors are always open to new pullers and we look forward to having you come pull with us. We proudly do not charge a membership fee to be part of CKAP, if you pull with us--you will soon see that you become part of our pullin' family. Friends and family getting together on pull day and having a good time is what we are all about.each and everyone to come out to our pulls, bring the family and have a good time.

CKAP is a non-profit organization and I am very proud to say that all the work that goes into our pulls is donated.

This site will provide you with the pulling classes, directions, rules and a schedule of our pulls as well as the results from each pull. We invite each and everyone to come out to our pulls, bring the family and have a good time.

We always welcome your comments on what is working and what is not, so please feel free to call us or send an e-mail. We look forward to yet another great year of pulling!!!
