2009 Pulling Rules


 

General Rules

1. Tractors must be 1959 or older (tractor series must start by 1959).

2. Tractor must have stock transmission, rear end and axle housing or replacement of same manufacturer. Heads, blocks (jugs), manifolds must be the same manufacturer as the crankcase and frame. Modified tractors allowed altered manifolds/headers.  Engine must be of same number of cylinders and fuel type as originally manufactured. No alteration to the wheel base of the tractor.

3. Any agricultural type carburetor allowed. Must be the same number of barrels, throats and draft direction as originally manufactured.

4. Gas, diesel or LP fuels only. No alcohol or nitrous oxide fuels may be used in tractors.  Tractors manufactured to use diesel fuel only can not be converted to gas or LP.

5. All tractors must be naturally aspirated.

6. Fan guards or side shields are MANDATORY on all tractors.

7. No radial tires. No steel wheels. Two wheel drive only. No duals.

8. All tractors allowed 20 % over RPM. ( M & W chart used to determine RPM of tractor) All tractors are required to have a working governor.

9. Working KILL switches are MANDATORY on all tractors.

10. Hitch of any type, no less than 18 inches from center of axle to end of hook point. Must not be more than 20 inches in height. Hitch must be stationary in all directions, and hitch hole must allow hook point to flow freely and be parallel with the ground.

11. Wheelie bars are REQUIRED and can be no higher than 10". The pad/wheels must extend past the tires. The pad must be at least 4x4 and must be able to support the weight of the tractor. Subject to random safety checks.

12. Weights on front of tractors can not extend more than 11 ft. from center of rear axle to the front of the weight. Weights on rear can not extend past rear tires.

13. Puller has 2 attempts to reach the 40 ft. mark. Horn blowing past the half track mark will result in disqualification. Front of sled will be used as location to measure. 40 ft and half track mark.

14. Driver must remain in seat and one hand on steering wheel, hand clutch or throttle at all times during the pull.

15. Tractor must stay in bounds at all times. Anything dropping from the tractor while still hooked to the sled will result in disqualification. 

16. Pullers under the age of 18 must have written parental/guardian permission. An experienced adult must accompany an inexperienced driver on the track at all times.

17. Anyone to protest a tractor will post a $25.00 fee. The person who is protesting will be checked first.

JUDGE’S DECISION IS FINAL. 

All tractors are subject to random RPM & reweight checks. WILL BE ENFORCED WITH NO EXCEPTIONS.


 

Super Farm Stock Rules

1. Super Farm Stock can run any gear.

2. Speed limit is 3 MPH.

3. Tire sizes: up to 16.9 x 38 (14 x 38 old style tire) on 16" rim in the 6500 class and below. 18.4 x 38 (16 x 38 old style tire) on 18" rim in the 7000 class and up.  (1955 Tire Conversion Chart used)

4. TOP CUT TIRES ALLOWED. No  aluminum wheels on rear.


 

Modified Stock Rules

1. Modified stock can run any gear.

2. Speed limit will be 5 MPH.

3. Tire sizes: Maximum of 18.4 x 38 (16 x 38 old style tire) on any size rim.  (1955 Tire Conversion Chart used)


 

Pure Stock Rules

1. All standard rules apply to this class with the exception of items 2 thru 11 listed below.

2. Tractor must have stock wheels for the model being pulled.

3. Tractors must have stock drawbar, and pull from factory pulling point.

4. If a part is not in the manufacturer parts book it can not be used, with the exception of straight exhaust pipe, alternator, and electronic ignition.

5. Hitch point must be horizontal and parallel to the ground (no straight style clevis) no less then 20 inches from the center of the axle to the end of hook point. Hitch must be no more than 18 inches in height to the hook point.

6. Tractor must have original air cleaner and carburetor.

7. Speed limit is 3 mph after the half track mark.

8. Wheelie bars and kill switches are not required but recommended.

9. No radial tires.

10. No altered tires.
 
11. No hanging weights.
